Miles to go for Flashback Friday…

Several weeks ago I found an old picture of my Granddaddy that I’ve been curious about.  It resembles him, but in the photo he looks heavier than I remember him.  It’s stamped on the back Dean Studio – Omaha, Nebraska, and I don’t remember him ever going to Omaha.  I have no idea when or why this photo was actually taken.  If it didn’t have his name on the back I might have thought it was a brother or cousin of his.  The only thing I know for sure is that he always wore this kind of hat…always.  When I was at Mississippi College in Clinton, I loved to drive south to Georgetown to see my grandparents on the weekends.  If Granddaddy wasn’t home, I would head out to the farm and there he would be, sitting in his pickup truck watching cows in a tie and a hat.  He was one of the best dressed men I have ever known.  The lips and nose in this photo are his.  The hands are his too.   The shadows in the foreground make me curious about who was with him and the landscape gives no clues.   The clothes most definitely could be his, but for the life of me, I can’t imagine why he would be in Omaha, Nebraska!
