First the Diamond Jubilee and now the Olympics…

I’ve got it…wanderlust, that is!

I’ve been craving a trip to London since the Diamond Jubilee and now I have to endure the Olympics in London for the next two weeks.  I love everything British.  I love the accents, I love their pride, I love the Royal Family, I love the Eye and the Gherkin!  What I love most though is the history, which the Olympic planning committee shared so beautifully last night during the opening ceremony.  Soon, London, I’ll be back…

In the meantime, I’ll keep the tellie on for you!

  1. Janet Taber says:

Silly me — I even love the food! Everyone says the food in England is terrible, but I loved everything — except the “blood gravy” for breakfast. If for nothing else (and I love it all, too — the antiques, the anitquity of everything, the villages, the sheep, the stacked-stone fences, the markets, the churches, the driving on the wrong side of the road, the roundabouts, the PEOPLE) I’d go back just to have afternoon tea every day….in a different tea room in a different, multi-hyphenated-named village (Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Morton-in-Marsh) every day of the week. Christy, this must be on our short list of girls’ trips to take — yes, these Games are making me homesick, too….
